Merrell ForestBound Mid WP – Overview
This hiking boot is in my option the best affordable, all-around hiking boot. It’s a comfortable mid-cut boot made out of leather, mesh upper, and rubber sole. It is a lace-up boot and light-weighted with an Orthotic Insole. The boot is waterproof up until the “Dry” mark. The boot has an excellent grip, doesn’t matter if you are on rocks, sand, or mud.
I bought a black pair of Merrell ForestBound hiking boots two months before I went on a moderate but rocky multi-day hike. I wore the shoes almost every day to work (they look very neat with jeans or pants). I also tried to do a few day hikes during weekends just to get used to the boots and in no time my feet were used to them.
I did however treat the Merrell ForestBound Mid WP hiking boots with Authur Jack’s Protector as it provides a shield against water penetration and oil staining but I have done this for all my leather products.
It did rain on my hike and my feet were dry and kept dry for the whole hike. I was blister-free and my feet never got tired in my pair of Merrell ForestBound hiking boots.
The only reason I don’t give it full marks is I want to test the durability, I know Merrells is a “never-say-die” kind of shoe but I shall put this shoe through its paces and then will update my review again.
